Women & Advertising 2012: A Recap By Miss Representation

“You can’t be what you can’t see”. Ain’t that the truth!

MissRepresentation.org, the social action campaign of the documentary film, has put together this new, incredibly impactful video, giving us a closer look at how women have been portrayed in advertisements in 2012. Although women continued to make big strides this year on Capitol Hill and in the boardroom, we clearly still have a long way to go when it comes to our representation in advertising campaigns.

With its mission to transform what media looks like for the next generation of boys and girls, Miss Representation asks us to take a pledge, stand up to sexism and challenge the media’s limiting portrayal of women and girls. Take the pledge here.
