“Girls… it seems that after you’ve helped to win the war, you’ll still have another battle on your hands, legs, and things… the battle of the bulges.”

Flashing back to this gem of a film clip from the 1940s, a charming time in the early days of body shaming when the promise of looking like a “sea nymph” was the pitch used to convince “girls” to do their “WOMANeuvers” on machines that “curve you right”.

Considering the era, there’s so much here that makes us laugh really hard… including the notion that the woman being squeezed in a giant hot dog roller is on the road to “health and happiness”.

Ahhh… to look like a “sea nymph.” A girl’s gotta dream!
