Inspired by the motifs and characteristics of historical time periods, Russian artist Asya Kozina has created these incredibly elaborate wigs, all hand-cut from paper.

In her Baroque Paper Wigs series, Asya curls and cuts paper sheets to form the most outrageous and impressive wearable sculptures we’ve ever seen.

“Historical wigs always fascinated me, especially the Baroque era. This is art for art’s sake aesthetics for aesthetics, no practical sense. But they are beautiful.” Asya explains in an artist statement. “Paper helps to highlight in this case the main form and not be obsessed with unnecessary details.”

Asya’s previous work includes wedding dresses and period costumes, all of which are incredibly impressive. You can check more of Asya’s work here.
