Rachel Ignotofsky, a graphic designer, illustrator and Woman You Should Know, was recently asked by Fandango to design a poster of her favorite movie for their “I Love Movies” pop up gallery at the Santa Monica Pier in California, and it’s just awesome.

“Movies have always been a huge inspiration for me. Some of my favorite characters are fierce leading ladies who save the day. These women use their brain and brawl, while not giving up their sensitivity or femininity. Growing up with Princess Leia and Ellen Ripley made me never doubt my own kick-ass nature,” Rachel said about the inspiration for her poster. “I am excited to see even more strong women on the silver screen, and with this poster we can all celebrate women who kick ass.”

Fandango asked 20 of their favorite artists to participate in the gallery. The final posters, depicting movies such as The Shining, Jurassic Park, The Princess Bride and more, will remain on display through September 10, or you can visit their virtual gallery.

Rachel is a full time freelance illustrator working in Kansas City, MO. She believes that illustration is a powerful tool that can make information fun and accessible, and we couldn’t agree more!
