According to the U.S. Bureau Labor of Statistics March 2014 report, although on the whole, the economy has continued to add jobs, the unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.7 percent. But, for women it’s entirely a different story.
The unemployment rate for adult women increased from 5.9 percent in February to 6.2 percent in March. This means that more and more women are searching for employment, interviewing for new jobs, making career changes, etc.
Let’s face it, job interviews can be intimidating and stressful, thinking about how to present yourself to best showcase your skills and talent, is a daunting task. In a recent survey of more than 2,000 hiring managers, 33% claimed to know whether they would hire someone within 90 seconds of meeting a candidate. That’s a minute and a half to make a good impression!
