The Mother of All Comedy

Several years ago we heard comedian Amy Borkowsky’s mother’s hysterical answering machine messages and we laughed so hard, the mascara ran down our cheeks. At first we thought it must be a set up, as we couldn’t imagine anyone’s mother being so suffocating, overprotective or that funny, but the unsolicited advice Amy’s mom imparts is done with such genuine sincerity and caring, that the tapes can only be real, if not just incredibly entertaining.

A former award-winning advertising executive, Amy Borkowsky began her comedic adventure after gathering some of her mom’s most extreme messages, which she then played on stage, while making the rounds on New York’s stand-up comedy circuit — the audience howled with laughter, and Amy had a new career.

For ten years, as each tape filled up, Amy would toss them into a drawer, never imagining that someday the phone messages would lead to two releases of Amy’s Answering Machine, The Mother of All Comedy, and now an app called Amy’s Mom, giving anyone a chance to take a nagging mother with you on the go!

Laugh yourself silly and have a lovely Mother’s Day!
