In 4 days, world class athletes representing 205 nations will captivate audiences around the globe at the Games of the XXX Olympiad. WYSK is celebrating the countdown to the start of London 2012 all week and we’re kicking things off with a tribute to a unique group of women behind this summer’s Olympic competitors… the moms who raised some of the athletes that we will be cheering on.

We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to WYSK reader Steve in Colorado for letting us know about the “Team Mom” series of incredibly inspiring mom-u-mentary video shorts produced by Procter & Gamble, a proud sponsor of some 150 global athletes, including 28 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls. We love this video series because it captures the real human side of these super athletes and the integral roles that their mothers played in their rise to success. After all, without the love, support and sacrifice of their moms these champions might not be where they are today. Makes you want to say, “Thank you, Mom” to the cheerleader in your own corner.

There are over 30 video shorts in the P&G “Team Mom” library currently running on Shine from Yahoo, but we are sharing two of our favorites here, which truly moved us:
