Smear Cheer: New Guidelines Give Women Break From Annual Pap Test
HealthMedicineNews

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) just announced new guidelines for cervical cancer screening that extends the interval between Pap tests to 3-5 years for most women. Thankfully we have a WYSK far more knowledgeable than us – ACOG Vice President for Health Policy Barbara S. Levy, MD – to explain EVERYTHING women of all ages need to know on the subject.

We also love that she threw in a brief history of the Pap test – the life saving, stroke of genius of Dr. George Papanicolaou, a.k.a. Dr. Pap… seriously!

Thank you WYSK for these very informative posts on women’s health. Dr. Levy explains the new guidelines clearly and calmly. I will definitely discuss this with my OB/GYN.
