Leanna is a 5-year-old girl who loves superheroes. But, as her father explains, “when she wears her superhero clothes to kindergarten, the boys tell her that superheroes are ‘for boys.’ She has even started to wear her jacket all day to keep from being hassled about it.” GASP!! This does not fly in our WYSKy book.
“Superheroes are for boys!” – Leanna’s kindergarten classmates tell her
But have no fear, Leanna’s awesome big sister, 7-year-old Adalina, who sounds like a Woman You Should Know in training, has swooped in to the rescue by declaring Wednesday, October 1 to be Wear Your Superheroes Day, and it goes like this…
“Boys and girls who believe superheroes are for EVERYONE should wear their superhero stuff on Wednesday and post a picture with the hashtag #WearYourSuperheroes. Solidarity!”
We could not love this Sister Act more, so let’s help these Super Girls make Wear Your Superheroes Day a national holiday!
