Samaya Clark-Gabriel is your average 6-year-old, but when she has a basketball in her hands something truly extraordinary happens. Over the last few months, the pint-sized baller has developed a crazy skill set that defies age, physicality, and logic, earning her the hometown moniker “Brooklyn Phenom”. Her parents say Samaya only “picked up basketball in December 2015”, but is already well on her way to having “better dribbling skills than NBA superstar Stephen Curry.”
You have to see Samaya in action (killing it during drills with grown men, dribbling blindfolded or while simultaneously catching a tennis ball), to fully comprehend this girl’s unbelievable control, hand-eye coordination, footwork, speed and agility.
UPDATE (August 23, 2016): The WNBA’s New York Liberty invited Samaya to their practice yesterday, where she played 1-on-1 with NBA legend and Liberty Team President Isiah Thomas, and showed off her skills while doing drills with NYL stars Swin Cash and Shavonte Zellous, as well as with retired WNBA great Teresa Weatherspoon.
