We recently introduced you to the new children’s book Founding Mothers: Remembering the Ladies, by Cokie Roberts – a look at the wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters who helped forge our great nation.

Beautifully illustrated by award-winning artist Diane Goode, Founding Mothers: Remembering the Ladies introduces young readers to the brave, brilliant, and enterprising women whose influence on the founding of our country was as instrumental as that of the men whose names are inked in history.

Ms. Roberts traces the stories of heroic, patriotic women such as Abigail Adams, Martha Washington, Phillis Wheatley, Mercy Otis Warren, Sarah Livingston Jay, and others. The bravery of these women’s courageous acts contributed to the founding of America and spurred the founding fathers to make this a country that “remembered the ladies.”
