Fiancée-less Brides? They Can’t Be Serious!

Single Bridezillas

ABC News ran this story on Tuesday spotlighting a “trend” that Marie Claire magazine claims is a growing one among single women… planning a wedding before a woman has a proposal, a ring on her finger or even a significant other. We’re not talking about wedding day “dreaming”; these are single women who are apparently putting cold hard cash down to buy their gowns and setting plans in place for everything from the flowers, the reception menu and music playlist, to where they (she and her Mr. X) are going on their honeymoon. The news piece ponders if these women are “fearless or desperate”. We don’t think either word fits for such bizarre behavior. What do you think?

A step back or a step forward…. Maybe it’s just women knowing what they want and not compromising? I’m trying to put a positive spin on this.

Well, this shows me that although the automatic association of woman with wife seems to be a thing of the past, apparently the “I MUST grow up to be a bride who wears a big white dress” idea still haunts us. What sexual revolution?
