This young-at-heart, vibrant woman celebrated her milestone birthday with family and friends last week in Cleveland, OH.
Arlena, who was born and raised on a farm in North Carolina never had kids of her own, but was a committed foster mom to more than 50 children over several decades, making sure they had everything they needed, including an education. “I gave them what I didn’t get, she said in this interview with Fox 8 News Cleveland. “I was a dropout, but I thank the Lord I’m doing all right.”
And while longevity runs in the family (another family member lived till 114), Arlena attributes her long, happy and healthy life to just one thing… love. She offers some solid advice too, “Just love one another. Treat one another good, because I love everybody and will help everybody I can. So that’s what we have to do.”
Happy birthday Arlena, and thanks for reminding us of what really counts!
