Esther Okade LOVES math! Her contagious enthusiasm for the subject and early accomplishments has brought her media attention since she was just six years old. Now, at the ripe old age of 10, Esther has enrolled at The Open University, UK with the goal of completing a math degree in just two years.

But that’s just the beginning for this whiz. Esther intends to go on to get a PhD so that one day she can run her own business; she says she’d like to be a banker and expects to be running her own bank by the age of 16.

When asked why she loves math so much, Esther affectionately responds, “I just love maths, all the numbers and the solving, it’s like a mystery!”

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for Esther, but we’re sure world domination isn’t out of the question. Come to think of it, there has never been a female leader of The World Bank… just sayin’.

I hope that she is OK at the university. 10 years of age is quite different than17 or 18. I hope her classmates will respect her for her talents and not ridicule her.
